Wireless electroencephalograph (encephalograph) NeuroEEG (24 channels) is an innovative solution for long-term monitoring EEG recordings. Unlike competing wireless systems, it provides a full-scale encephalographic frequency band, has miniature dimensions, a high degree of protection from movement artifacts, and stable communication with a computer within 10–15 m.

Description

The wireless electroencephalograph «NeuroEEG» is necessary for long-term monitoring of brain biopotentials via 21 channels, with parallel recording of three polygraphic channels: electrocardiogram, electromyogram and electrooculogram.

The system is designed for use in medical and preventive institutions, diagnostic centers, neurosurgical clinics and in experimental laboratories of research institutes, clinics, medical-preventive and rehabilitation institutions.

The hardware unit communicates with the personal computer via Bluetooth connection. The examination is recorded synchronously, in real time, on a computer and on a microSD card built into the hardware unit. The device is installed on the patient's head, which minimizes movement artifacts. These innovative solutions enable to achieve high-quality EEG recording both in hospital settings and when the patient is free to move (without being tied to a computer) around the room, medical facility, and even beyond.

A single electrode system allows for the use of device without significant difficulties for patients with different skull sizes, including infants.

The device can be used not only for long-term monitoring, but also for routine examinations. For these purposes, the system can be additionally equipped with a wireless photostimulator.

Thus, the wireless electroencephalograph «NeuroEEG» is a universal system of high-quality EEG recording.

System and software capabilities

The main types of mathematical analysis and EEG processing:

  • automated search for areas of pathological epileptic activity, including for long-term recordings;
  • automatic search and selection of artifacts in the EEG signal;
  • spectral analysis;
  • correlation analysis;
  • real-time topographic 2D and 3D mapping;
  • calculation of hemispheric asymmetry, index and frequency of rhythms.

Key software functions:

  • parallel recording of the examination signal in the computer memory and on the internal microSD card (built into the device) makes it possible to carry out examinations without tying the patient to the medical institution room;
  • the ability to restore lost data packages (EEG signal) from a microSD card if the patient was outside the range of the wireless system during the examination;
  • quality control of electrode placement according to interelectrode resistance in real time (impedance measurement function);
  • automatic description of functional tests in reports, automated generation of reports in text and tabular form;
  • the presence of a database of pre-installed electrode placement schemes (monopolar and bipolar) and the ability to create your own (customized) schemes using the built-in electrode placement scheme editor;
  • the ability to print out necessary sections of the EEG signal in accordance with the set parameters (printing time interval, printing the challenge tests, printing the active screen with a signal and the entire registered EEG signal);
  • EEG recording according to pre-formed (pre-defined) protocols and the ability to create user protocols with the required number and parameters of challenge tests;
  • the possibility of parallel registration of universal polygraphic channels (electrocardiogram, electromyogram and electrooculogram) during the EEG examination;
  • EEG signal recording according to a protocol and without a protocol, the ability to change the sequence of challenge tests as part of the protocol;
  • the ability to add events, epileptic activity zones, artifacts, text notes, and tests to the recorded signal both in the EEG signal recording mode and after its completion;
  • the ability to record video images in parallel during the examination (using two or more cameras);
  • the ability to select (and switch) bipolar circuits both during the examination (in real time) and upon its completion;
  • use of digital filters both in real time and after completion of signal recording, filtration of network interferences;
  • the presence of bandpass filters to identify frequency ranges;
  • switching signal display scales – by time (sweep) and amplitude (sensitivity), filter parameters both in real time and after recording the EEG signal;
  • built-in database of standard templates and phrases for filling in the fields of the reporting form (pre-installed templates for drawing up conclusions), the ability to add, save, edit and delete user templates and phrases.

Database functionality:

  • the user-friendly and intuitive database interface allows to quickly fill in information about the patients during their registration in the electronic card file;
  • mechanisms for sorting the patient list by criteria (alphabetical order, gender, age, registration date and last examination date) and quick search for a patient from the list by several letters of the full name;
  • wide possibilities for distant and remote description of examinations via cloud storage or a network drive: conducted examinations are automatically uploaded to any convenient cloud service, which provides the ability to access examinations from anywhere in the world;
  • the ability to export the reporting form to Microsoft Office Word and PDF;
  • export to Loreta program;
  • the ability to record a portable version of the examination (along with the video image) of the patient on a disk and/or flash card, for viewing of which (on another PC) no specialized software needs to be installed;
  • import/export of conducted EEG examinations;
  • EEG examinations can be exported to CSV, EDF, EDF+ formats and processed using well-known international programs such as LORETA, EEGLAB, BESA, CURRY, etc.;
  • high level of security for stored data – encryption of examination results, backup and restoration of the database from a backup copy;
  • the ability to create databases individually for each user (specialist)
