The Ultrasonic echoencephalograph (echoencephaloscope)

The Ultrasonic echoencephalograph is a classical ultrasonic device which operates as a nonportable encephalographic system (controlled by a desktop computer) and as a portable device as well controlled by a notebook (the weight of the notebook is 0.5kg) with supply by accumulators.

Functions and capabilities

The system is designed to make one dimensional echoencephalography study of brain according to standard techniques. They are used to detect M echo signals, brain ventricular width, pulsation rate, cerebral cortex index, transmission mode etc. Our echoencephalograph is connected with a personal computer or a notebook through the USB data interface unit. A doctor can work with system with help of the special software. The encephalographic system is full-function in this case.

A signal is displayed on the screen in real time mode. Echolocation is combined with statistical analysis of reflected signals in order to simplify the whole procedure of analysis and to identify echo-signal more accurately. In freeze frame mode the device makes measurements with automatic detection of finite complexes, shows the reflection from medium brain tissues, lateral brain ventricles with distance review, detects a transmission. Final results of the analysis are recorded into a database. It forms a calculation table of basic parameters. These recordings are stored in the data base with further optional data sorting and edition. Echo signals can be optionally printed. There is also a supporting system that makes decision.


The echoencephalograph software is controlled under is full-function no low than in the Windows 7 environment. An encephalographic program is user-friendly that is the main unique feature of the software. There are no other requirements for operating with the software for a doctor except to being computer literate. The main window of encephalographic program is similar to the Windows desktop environment. It is possible to do the following acts in the main window:
