Function capabilities

Electromyograph (electroneuromyographic analyzer, myograph, neuromyograph) Synapsis is designed to make routine and advanced studies of muscle bioelectrical activity and nerve tissues. Electromyograph is connected to personal computer by means of USB. Power supply is provided from the computer (myograph doesnt need 220V). It enables to use the system not only in hospital but also in field conditions together with notebook accumulators of which supply the whole system. Interaction with the computer is implemented by means of special software.

The electromyograph work is based on complex medical methodology of electromyography with full set of stimulation techniques (other names: electroneuromyography, myography, neuromyography) and brain evoked potentials examination. Signals are recorded in 1, 2 or 4 commonly used channels in real time in monitoring mode. It is possible to change time scale and amplitude scope, parameters of low-pass and high-pass filters, parameters of stimulation, volume of electromyogram audio reproduction. The electromyograph has special joined input and special cable with electrodes for fixation on the head for evoked potentials registration. All specialists actions in process of work are automated (algorithms of required signals automatic detection, markers automatic placing, automatic computation of parameters etc. is applied ). So, work with the system is considerably simplified. The signals are detected by either surface or needle electrodes. There are standard parameters in the data base which are compared with factual data. According to the data recordings calculation table of basic parameters is formed. Raw signals can be printed in selected separate portions. Recorded signals and all calculated parameters, graphs and charts can be stored in a database. It is possible to edit presented results when viewing them from the database. The next techniques are available:

Electromyograph Synapsis software is designed for work under operating system Windows 7 and higher. The main distinctive feature of the software is ease of its use. No special skills are required for work with it except skill of computer using. Main window of electromyography program is designed similarly to desktop of operating system Windows. In the main window you can do the next actions:

  • open patients database;
  • open window of examination technique selection;
  • open software description;
  • view the contact information

Database is necessary for storing the information about patients and examination results. Patients sorting in groups, internal system of the report generation according to examination results, results printing are available.

In the window of examination technique selection the required technique is selected from the available list. Each technique corresponds to its own program which is represented as a window of signal registration with set of special information (electromyograph parameters, computations, graphs, charts). Technique implementation is determined by medical requirements. Interaction with the programs is implemented by means of easy-to-use friendly interface. Actually researcher can be totally concentrated on patient examination, not on searching one or another option. Each technique can be adjusted to a user, i.e. all colours, window positions, parameter lists can be changed according to the user wishes.

To make the system function it is required to have a personal computer or notebook of the following configuration:

  • Processor at least 2 GHz, 2-core CPU (Intel i5 recommended)
  • RW memory not less 2 Gb;
  • Quantified (external/out) video card with memory minimum 512 Mb.
  • hard disk drive minimum 500 Gb;
  • monitor resolution with screen saver 1024 pixels in horizontal and not less 768 pixels in vertical direction both.
  • operation system Windows 7 or higher;
  • word processing program MS Word 2007 or higher, used to reports edition (unessential);
  • printer to export reports (unessential);
  • speakers for EMG audio reproduction;
  • Software for all devices is provided on a DVD, so DVD-ROM is required.
  • There must be at least 2 free USB ports on a PC to connect the electromiografy system.

The system can be set up into clients computer, but it is recommended to be delivered with a computer and a printer.
